It appears that this rumor probably started from the USCIS HQ order over the Texas Service Center to hold all the July 2007 EB-485 applications abeyanbce and not to return the applications to applicants. Unconfirmed sources indicate that because of the order, the Texas Service Center is not returning the EB-485 applications which have been received since July 2, 2007. I received receipt nos. from CSC. Later i received EAD also. Today i received mail from USCIS stating that my case is transferred to Nebraska. :(

I have recently moved out of state and started on a different job. I updated my address with USCIS online last week. I just got a email from CRIS for RFE. I have I-140 has been approved since 2004 and applied for I-485 in July 07. My lawyer is from Frogman firm. This was the firm used by my GC sponsor employer. My new position is slight different from Software Developer to Lead System Analyst. I think this should be covered with same or similar clause.
If you have prior experience please let me what to expect and do any preparation now itself.

I am in a similiar situation. My 485 was approved and my wife got her physical GC but I did not get mine. I took Infopass and the IO raised a SR. My case is from CSC to NSC. I got a response to the SR that my GC was sent and it might have got lost in mail and to file I-90. I called uscis customer rep, talked to 2nd level IO who mentioned that my card was never created and he will raise a SR mentioning the same.
Today I got 2nd FP notice mentioning that I did not give FP for the first one (I gave FP ahead of the scheduled date and verified with FBI if my prints were uploaded or not) and to appear for FP on Jan 11th, 2011. I spoke with a IO on the day this FP notice was sent and IO asked me the date I gave FP and he mumbled some numbers and checked something in the system. He said he had fixed the issue and ignore the 2nd FP. He mentioned his name to me. I should have taken his extension as well. I hope I get the card now or else I need to take Infopass. I emailed nsscfollowup with the scanned copy of the first biometrics notice which has the stamp from the ASC last week only.
I have n't contacted senators and congressmen yet and did not email the scopsscata yet

LoL. The response from the senator (actually from one of his assistants, for Obama did not even read your letter), may appall you thoroughly, but it was completely expected. We may think of our predicament apocalyptic, but from the point of view of a wannabe president, it is not even a problem which requires a careful and personal reading of a letter. With huge issues like Iraq war and 12 million foreigners living illegally in the country bearing down on him, who has time for a few thousand law abiding workers waiting patiently in line.

Just saw a soft LUD today. No status change from yesterday though.

Even with 40 credits it is not possible for Indian nationals to get SS payments in India. If you look at the rules closely on the SSA website, there is no simple way to get benefits paid in India unless you are a US Citizen. You must be present in the US for that

dvb - Which airport/office did you get this done at? Is there a link to look up? My firm has applied for I-94 extension but it is taking upwards of 6 months for approval so if this can be fixed via a trip to the CBP office I would like to try to do it. Thanks for your input.

My original labor has an annual salary of 50,000. My current salary is 95,000. I got an RFE to provide EVL. My job duties are mostly similar to that of the original labor. However job title is different.
is this a problem? My attorney is saying the salary differenence will cause an issue. He is asking me to convince my HR to add a range 50,000 - 95,000 as my salary, which i am sure my HR would be against doing that as it is a big company. I don't even want to ask them since they might think i am trying to do some kind of fraud and raise a red flag.
is there anyone in the IV community who had successfully used AC21 with a considerable difference in salary?. Please respond with your comments.

It i svery hard to make predictions because of the possible distortion in the trend due to the new NC>180 day rule.

For people thinking canada, or H1 b with children, what should I tell them.
Go to canada no job, will not be able to keep familiy there. Don't tell me people are not able to find a job in US in this market.
It is up to people to think of Canada or india. India is faaaaar better.

I got my Wife's and son's passports renewed at NY. I printed the phtos on the computer. My wife's i mailed it(got it back in 1 week). My sons i went to NY. If you go before 11AM, you can collect it back same evening. I did this almost 18 months ago.

You have already violated your F1 status. You can not have a company apply for PERM & i140 while on F1 status, period. All that stuff of "it�s for a future position" or "you did not authorize the company to apply for I 140" is B.S. The only thing that matters is that F1 is not a dual intent visa, and initiating a immigrant process in your name (yes the PERM and I140 applications have your name on it meaning you authorized it) means you violated F1 status. You need to consult an attorney before you file for H1.
Your answer is incorrect as far as I know. Please do a little research before giving such answers.
