Finally I gave a thought to all this GC business and I am planning to start my Canadian PR too, here are my questions :
1. Does anybody know of any good immigration cunsulting company for Canadian PR processing ?
2. How much would be the total cost to get it done throught the consulting services ?
3. Are there any hidden costs which these companies tell you at the end and try to rip you ?

This is exactly what I said in my previous posts. EB2 India may become unavailable towards the end of September as most of the visas will be used in August itself and we will see a flood of approvals starting August 1st itself. I think most of the approvable cases are already processed by USCIS after it gave the data to DOS on July 8th. I think most of the straight forward and less complicated cases during 2004 - 2006 period will be approved soon.
I do not want to spoil the party fun but somewhere in my mind there is a lingering doubt. I read Ron Gotcher's post about August 2008 bulletin.

Same here. I saw another soft LUD today 6/14 after a LUD yesterday 6/13. Wonder if USCIS works on Sat or it's just some regular database update.

According to my employer, he is going to the Senators office tomorrow to talk to them regarding my case. Got an appointment some time this week to see them on Friday. I dont know how far this is true. They already wrote a letter to them 2 weeks back. This is what my employer says. But I dont know whether he actually contacted them or not. He said he will give me further info on monday. I have to wait and see what he comes up with ( truth or some other new story) on Monday. Then I might decide to move on to a diff employer if nothing works out.

Hi,
I self e-filed my EAD application and the Receipt date is 6/7/10. They called for Biometrics which is done.
I got an email saying that they have sent a RFE. Waited for 10 days, still no signs of RFE. When I called USCIS, they asked me to wait for 15 days. When I called after 15 days, they created a Service Request to re-mail the RFE. Now they say, I have to wait for 45 days. When I asked them if they will extend my deadline to reply to the RFE, she said she doesn't know.
Has anyone been in this situation ?
What kind of RFE will they send for an EAD extension.
I sent my 485 receipt and a copy of my EAD when I e-filed.

(I deleted the post on this thread. The poster shamelessly posted the company URL and info on his post to promote the consulting company.). We have immediately banned this user and have been deleting the same in the past too and banning this user.
This ID was created and the other ID for which this person was complaining was posting to promote his website and company on IV. The company is another consulting company trying to get employees from this site by luring them for greencard sponsorship. Now when IV deletes such posts, they start hating IV.
There have been several instances where other immigration site owners and health insurance agents for US visitors have created IDs on our site and posted information to promote their insurance or site. We will continue to delete them. This effort is not about making money like they do from the for profit site and company, but we use our contributions and money to help the lobbying effort. We will disallow anyone using this site to promote their business. We have seen what they have written against IV on other sites and this site and it proves that they do not care about this cause and just want to make money off members of this site. If some business or website, truly cares about this cause, they need to show it by posting IV banner ad on their website and/or contributing to this cause. And yes, we will definitely acknowledge their contributions on this site publicly. But we will not allow any business interest taking advantage of IV for their own promotion or financial interests.

Except July Fiasco , I don't see dates ever moving forward in July VB; but they do move in August VB.
Has anything changed in spillover laws in last 1 year - which will explain this no movement in July but in August?

When they approve a case then status clearly says 'Case Approved'.
The email "we mailed the document to the applicant" may be anything or nothing, like if they transfer ur case to different service centre, they send a notice. Some time they don't send anything even though the email contradicts it. Keep checking the status, they might update it later if the case has been approved.
Also, for AP keep bugging ur attorney to see if they got it. For EAD, make sure your mail box has your name clearly, otherwise they won't deliver it.

Please do not mix social issues with immigration, this is not a forum about one particular country or its social manifestations (like how do I marry?, should I stay single forever? How am I going to find a girl?). These questions are absurd from American / immigration standpoint. If you already have a spouse and have immigration issues related to those situations then yes that is valid to ask here but otherwise (But how do I get the spouse then???) is purely a social / cultural issue. Please stick to immigration issues.

Having 3 years EAD/AP and ability to refile AOS (in the worst case) is the best workable solution to an economic turndown and lay-off. Having a recapture done will also help many

Asian airlines such as Thai, Cathay and Asiana all offer better fares, better service and faster transit times.Plus these countries are not trying to fleece people by requiring that they get a "Direct Airside Transit Visa". It happened with my family when they reached the airport to board their flight on Virgin , they were not allowed.I then bought tickets on Thai for the next day. To compound the pain, Virgin imposed a "No Show" fee on each ticket despite going to the airport. I think it would be best to avoid most European carriers, if for no other reason but they offer higher fares, terrible service, long transit times and last but not the least; the scam of the century(Airport Transit Visas). What do they think the passengers will try to do, jump off the walkway and make a run for it so they can settle illegally in U.K!I think the U.K govt is running out of ways to make money so they have found the most ridiculous way to make a few extra pounds from people foolish enough to travel on one of their carriers! This is how we are rewarded. This isn't a "grand bargain" it is not even an "amnesty" as many anti-immigrants are labeling it, this is worse, it is a "travesty." Bravo US Senate, you just proved that playing by the rules is such an unAmerican trait. We learn that from your grand bargain. Better late than never. So being illegal, not paying taxes will yeild you a green-card after 8 years of z-visa. How about many of us that have been subjected to endless waits, thousands of dollars in USCIS Fees, paying taxes for the last 8 or more years. Do we have to wait for another 8-10 years?. With the "grand-bargain" it does seem like it will be more years for legals waiting in line.
I like to think that being illegal is better than legal as per the provisions in CIR!
What do you think of H4-spouses who can't work whereas those illegal can now apply for a work-visas!
What do you think of parents who were not issued visitor visas for silly reasons? Whereas those who by hook or crook got here are being given work-visas?
How come the illegals are guaranteed a GC within 5 years and the current legal immigrants are NOT?
How come the illegals can work and the legal residents on certain visas can't?
How come the illegals can work for any employer while H1Bs can't?
I am not against giving these benefits to illegals if that's how it needs to fixed. But what about us, the bright and good folks!!

It was a great rally. Awesome job by the IV core team. It was very well organized. I thank all the IV core team members for that. I got to meet macaca and lots of other people.
Big round of applause to the CA members for showing up in such big numbers. I wished more people should have attended from the DC, NJ, MD and other neighboring states.

People do not agree and have different ideas - sometimes to the point of personal hurt! - this is natural. They have different interests and even when they have shared goals, sometimes their paths to those shared goals may diverge - this is natural, too. Yes, differences, discussion and divergence can lead to a final separation and then two or mroe new groups are born - and it can happen naturally and it does not have to be rushed or forced through censorship and persecution. But sometimes debates and differences actually help the whole group to stay together and find a better path or a better solution - in the heat of the discussion and in the fight of the dualling arguments a new idea, approach or solution is born. I do think that a lot of the most contentious discussions on this forum are actually the most important and interesting ones because those are the oens that will cut to the heart of the problem and reveal the real depths of the issues. Suppression of diverging opinions is the hallmark of dictatorships.

Folks i got a LUD on my AP 7 days back and again LUD 5 days back. But the status didn't change nor i get any letter of so far.
Does this means i'm on my way to a RFE :) If they send RFE does that gets reflected on the Online Status ??

Online status would change if you have a RFE on your AP(as matter of fact for all forms)... Normally it says "A notice was sent asking for additional evidence"
