When I applied for EAD and AP (paper filed) my attorney advised to make checks payable to “U.S. Department of Homeland Security”.
There has been time check used to be payable to:
U.S. Department of Homeland Security - USCIS
Now at some places it is shortened to:
U.S. Department of Homeland Security
And at other places it is shortened to:
USCIS
I think, they are interchangeable.

GC people is closer to citizenship and closer to get this permission.

So what is it now? Since GC people are closer to getting citizenship, they deserve to bring their parents? Or, the parents of GC holders are more deserving to come to the US?
You said those of us with bad parents don't need to comment. What happens to bad parents of citizens and very good parents of H1Bs? Where do they stand?

There were 1M+ EB GC applications as of March 2007 (when Ombudsman's report was written). There will be 1M additional applications by Aug 17 2007.
Lets assume a very conservative #: 1.4M by Aug 17. Then, 1.4M/140K = 10 years minimum.

Does that mean, they cannot file for a GC, while on H1? Also, as consulting would be severely restricted, how many of the H1s will be able to find Full-Time Jobs?
As we read more into the Bill, the 'hidden' intent is becoming clear..

They have not taken dual intent off H1b visas. Our major killer is however the restrictions imposed for extension beyond 6 years. We need the employer's recomendation + >365 days pending 140. I dont know whether one of these would suffice or whether both would be needed??? Otherwise it looks not VERY bad, but bad.

Spoke with Amit at USINPAC. Looks like the dude doesn't know any thing and might be a summer intern and Mr Robinder Sachdev is in India right now, I asked for his contact info and he doesnt have it right now. He is trying to get his contact information and also escalating with his higher ups. He said that he is receiving a lot of calls from IV members. Dont fire up on this guy. He is just taking calls. I told him that its unfair to grab/steal credit with out mentioning the source and also pointed out how IV has been renamed to Emigration Voice in the original story.
IV should have a own press release refuting their claims, if we do not hear from them in a day or two. That way we can expose them right away and stop them from doing so again in the future. Other wise, this might become a common thing for them

- never use google or any search engine
- since my first EAD was filed before the new changes implemented last year (i think july 2007), I had to pay $340. I think everyone has to pay $340 (Your case may be different, read the instructions properly)
This now will give me a 2 year EAD. and even after 2 years If I dont get a GC, I will be able to reapply for EAD, at that time WITHOUT any FEES!!
Bottom line is : Read the instructions properly.
