Why not parents have a different category... not B2. maybe P1/P2
B2 is tourist visa. Parents are not tourist.
We are here because of our good parents. Forgetting them is most disrespect we do in life.
If we don't care our parents, when we become older(parents) how will our kids will care us?.
Research are proving...if we live together as family like in olden days...many health issues will disappear...everybody will be happy, no stress.

If USCIS works round the clock, working all 200 days of an year, atleast giving green card every day for 100 applicants then from now 3 to 4 years is really optimistic and certainly possible . But I'll say better for to says atleast 5 years from now.

I agree with the analysis given by willwin. In fact, I was thinking on similar lines. If no visas are wasted and total number of pending employment based visas is around 200,000 as given by Mr. Op.. himself, I do not see any reason why dates do not move. My estimation is both EB-2 and EB-3 dates for China and India will hover in the range of 2005 ~ 2006. This estimation is based on number of applications filed during Pre-PERM and Post-PERM era with two recessions taking the toll on number of applications received by USCIS.
Only assumptions in the above analysis are
1. Figures given by Mr. Op.. is somewhat correct. (Seems to be correct based on monthly statistics released by USCIS since 2008)
2. USCIS does not intend to waste visas.(This also can be safely assumed as they are following the policy of not wasting for the last two years)
3.No country limit. (This seems correct if point 2 is correct)
Now guys, do not disturb my dream.:)

Well, DOS is alerting that don't expect additional rapid movement any time soon. Here is the relevant part of their warning:
E. EMPLOYMENT-BASED VISA AVAILABILITY IN THE COMING MONTHS
Cut-off date movements in recent months have been greater than might ordinarily be expected, in an effort to maximize number use within the annual numerical limits. This has been necessary because demand being received from Citizenship and Immigration Services (CIS) Offices for adjustment of status cases has been relatively light. As these dates have advanced, however, many thousands of applicants have become eligible for processing at CIS Offices. Once number use increases significantly as CIS addresses its backlog, cut-off date movement will necessarily slow or stop. Moreover, in some categories cut-off date retrogression is a particular possibility.
The only positive thing I can take from this visa bulletin (assuming there is even a modicum of linear thought possible on the movement of dates) is that the 485 traffic for PDs between 2002 July and Jan 2003 is fairly light for EB2 India. After all they stated as much in their footnotes about anticipated movement of PDs. This can be construed as offering some hope for those from EB2 India with priority dates in early 2003 (say up to march). After all anyone in their right mind would not chance CP now with the fluidity of priority dates and the pending BEC deluge of cases, and the hordes of people hunting labour subs. etc. Basically if anyone gets the chance to file 485 they will do it lest the dates retrogress again while they are waiting for the consular interview.
So those with early 2003 dates can be hopeful now, later than march and I doubt you will be in this fiscal years quota.

This will definitely lead to a lot of noise and I am quite sure the remaining 50K visas left for recapture for yrs 2002-2004 will also be recaptured soon after the elections. I hope for the SKIL provisions but am less confident about them than I am about the Schedule A workers.

Regarding medical insurance, your company has to offer you COBRA..you will end up paying almost twice the premium that you have been paying so far, but it would still be better than you footing the delivery charges (10k - 25K). Continue CORBA atleast till the deliver and post-partum - for as long as possible..

I would strongly suggest, people refrain from using words like injustice, etc., Injustice implies the US govt is doing something wrong, when they are not. Such accusations do not reflect well on us and are unlikely to benefit in any meaningful way.
Desis are impacted because we are just so many of us. No other reason. Keep in mind that we are still walking away with the bulk of green cards each year, far above the stipulated Quota.
The Green card system exists for the benefit of America. It will not be tailored to meet the individual needs of overpopulated countries. All we can do is request them to improve the system and make it easier for applicants. Taking the aggressive approach of accusations, demanding for change, asking for more, etc., will not work.

I don't know if this question has been asked before. Is there a benefit for filing AP by paper rather then electronically. I filed EAD by paper to TCS and got the "Card Production Ordered" email yesterday (in 14 days) for myself and my wife. My friends who efiled just received finger printing appointment notification and no receipts. Is there same benefit with AP? Please calrify.

Thanks Almond... your post summarizes exactly how ppl in my position feel. one of my frds did MBA from top 20 B-school but could not change to a new job in management career becoz his I-140 approved but did not file for I-485 yet and worse yet he crossed 6 year H1b. now he is also living on 3 year h-1b extensions with approved I-140. when he was venting his frustration like me, one a$$hole (GC holder) suggested he move back to his home country. funny thing was this a$$hole got her GC becoz she married some bakra who already applied for GC. within 6 months after she arrived in US, her huby got them GCs. This dumb wothless piece of $hit doesnt know how hard (impossible ?) to get GC in this lifetime becoz she got it in 6 months :mad: .
Yeah, and that's another thing. There are a lot of insensitive people out there who don't really know the meaning of sympathy and who think out of their butts. That is why when you feel like venting out you need to really select people that are more compassionate. No one expects a pity party, but at the same time no one should trivialize something as serious as this or give "advice" that is idiotic and that even they, had they been in this situation, would not do. I feel terrible for your friend because he has such education and is stuck like this. It feels like you're wasting the best years of your life just waiting. There is nothing that I or anyone can tell you or your friend to make you feel better but please listen to me and learn from my mistake, and tell your friend, too: DON'T WASTE THIS TIME. If you need to volunteer somewhere to use skills that you have that you are not allowed to use on your present job, DO IT. Or if you can take classes to learn new skills, DO IT. Find a way to be more than what you are now so that when this is over you are not just "floridasun, man stuck in the same job for 10 years" When you finally get out of this hell hole and someone looks at your resume and says, what, you did this for how long!? My wife has a H1 since oct 2006 till date she hasn't worked and hence has no pay stubs. her passport has a F2 visa. I want to convert her visa to H4. Her employer is asking for 6k to generate 3 paystubs for 3 months. I dont want to pay so much. if we go to canada to get H4 stamping will they ask for her pay stubs or just my pay stubs are enough.

On one side kids at a age they should be enjoying... work hard at something and excel at it,whatever it be.
On the other side so called highly educated (?) people ...supposedly people who should excel at something find faults with these kids saying they aren't good at all facts of life.
Are any one of us good in everything ? or for that matter is anyone in this world good ?
Learn to appreciate achievement, for they have achieved far more than most of us did.
To all those people who keep saying this is rote learning of words, do you know how many words there are ? and if it is humanely possible to remember the spelling of each of the words ? There is much more logic involved as words of a specific origin (greek,Italian etc) have a specific characteristic and trend it is all about picking out the trend...keeping your cool and spelling it out taking into account all the smaller variances.
Before any of you go off on how kids work too hard, take a survey of the most successful people in the world most them spent their childhood working extremely hard towards a goal.
These are kids they can grow up and learn and become more rounded, hopefully that can apply to some posters here.

NSC EB2 140 is July 5th 2007 (my friend got approval yesterday by filing in Aug 2007)
Clear your cache and then reopen browser - you should be able to see MAY 15th update.
