Sorry for opening a new thread, Please point me to the thread if this issue is already addressed in some other thread and delete this thread.
I filed my I-485 in July, Still waiting for receipts, Now my company got acquired by another company. My questions are-
Any actions required from my side? What will happen to my I-485 which is already filed, Do I need to re-file with new company?
If I get EAD in next few weeks can I use that EAD after 6 months of filing I485?

I had the same situation when before I apply my GC my company was taken over by my current employer ... there is something called 'successor of interest' .... as I understand the new company will take over ownership of any H1/GC etc that you have with your previous employer ...
this is just my thoughts .. better you get it verified by your lawer ...

I see no harm in contacting him; but your excitement about Chandrasekharan seems curious to me. When people who have themselves immigrated from India (who now have GC/citizenship) are so indifferent about us, how can you expect a second generation indian journalist to "understand" our problems ? He does not seem to have done any articles on immigration; so there is no objective way for us to say whether he is really sympathetic to us or not.
Remember that even anti-immigration organizations like numbersUSA have lots of members who are immigrants themselves or have immigrant parents.

Yeah you have to open the safe to get the key.
If you wandered around that mansion you would have gotten scraps of paper that had numbers on them.
The 3 numbers make up the combination.
You have to go up the steps, and to the left into a room where there is a safe.
You have to enter the combination quick and without mistakes to open it.
After you get it open youw ill have to fight a boss that is half/half. One half hot and one half cold if I remember correctly (which I probably don't).
After beating him you will get the key to the basement door and some other cool items.

Finally! Last night at 8:00 pm EST I received an email from CRIS saying that the Card production was ordered. That is awesome.
I assume that I should get the card in about 5-10 business days.
Does anyone know how long it takes to get the EAD after the card production is ordered?

I own house too. My immediate goal would be to get my PERM and I-140 approved and with the help of approved I-140 get a 3 years extension so that i can stay and enjoy my new house for few more years. By the way i was in this queue in Mar06(my first perm) and Jun 07(My second perm) and now again in April 09. I am building my patience every year :D

Finally my EB-2 Sch-A Cat.II I-140 got approved on Oct-30. I got five emails today.
I submitted my I-140 as regular and then upgraded to Premium a week before on Oct-25.
thanks to all of you on this important forums who helped me lot in the process.
Now I will be enjoying ride of Retrogession Starting from Nov-1 in Sch-A cases.
Will Keep posted about I-485 as it develops.

Was the threat or intimidation verbal or do you have any paper trail. This can go both ways as the company's have a right to protect their intellectual property and on the same was that non compete legal (meaning if you challenge that in the court, can the judge say yes this needs 5 years of non compete).
Take the non compete and any paper trail about the termination to an HR attorney ASAP. Also see whether any of your colleagues were impacted and go for a class action.

I did not realize this before and even my attorney did not tell me anything about this. what is the requiremnet for passport to apply I485? same time my application was mailed today afternoon in registered post. If there is slight chance of rejecting I want to call back my application and applying with new passport. what you guys think about this?
Frankly Speaking there is no relevance,I know when i stamped my H1 for the first time visa stamping given to me was beyond the expiry date of passport in which the visa stamp was stamped.
The deal is that when u r staying abroad other than your home country it is expected that one renews its passport 1 year before expiry.I renewed my passport one year before expiry thats the norm most countries follows. Even nowadays you go for stamping US embassy wants mimimum six month valid passport.Many people have got in trouble/issues with this since they get the full period visa but immigration officer at POE/airport only issue I 94 upto the validity of you passport,these things cause unneccessarry issues of filing for extension of status to get extended I 94. It is very important that everyone renews their passport before one year of expiry.
As far as your case is concerned i dont think unless there are red flags in your case they are going to look at your passport expiry date ,at the max they might issue an RFE or expalnation, lawyers usually file more than requested documents like W2's ,tax rerturns etc so that RFE's can be avoided as RFE can signifacntally slow down your case processing . I would suggest you to renew your passport as soon as possible.

I know someone who went to Canada for the weekend and got the I-94 with the correct date on it.
Note that the airline (AA), on his way out of the US, was not willing to take his I-94 since he was going for less than 30 days. So he had to explain to them about his situation and they took it.
Also note that if you have an Indian passport, you will need a visa to go to Canada.
The other option to extend your I-94 is for your employer to refile I-129, and request for extension of stay. This can be done using premium processing.

So I am planning to make a trip to Mexico after my passport got renewed to renew I-94. Does it work?. Or do I have to go out of American Continent to get the new I-94. Let us try to schedule a meet with the prospective presidential Candidates (McCain, Clinton and Obama) instead to let them know our issues.
By the time we actually get a meeting with the current president, his term may have expired. The presidential candidates, on the other hand will have some time now (not a whole lot but a little). If we squeeze some time there, we may be able to atleast get our issues out there.
we can do this to get the Dems attention to our problems...right now Obama and Clinton are campaining in PA..so the IV members who are from PA can try to meet them and explain our problems.. when they are out there for campaining..
