My son was born last month and applied for US passport. Once I get the passport I am planning to apply for PIO card in Texas. Can you please let me know if I need to send my son's original passport and the processing time. Can you please also let me know if anyone recently applied?

Senior guys, if you don't like a thread, ignore it, the thread may be of interest to some people on the forum. So let those people talk. Also since nothing is happening on the immigration, what else public will do other than 'Time pass'???
I am assuming that you have gone to school and taken some exams/tests. Did you study during your exams/tests or did you study and prepare before your tests?
After doing all this "very important" discussion about Rs/$ conversion, if you get sometime, please read some news about immigration bill to find out that there is lot of activity going on with the immigration bill. Most of the time anti-immigrats are calling and putting pressure on lawmakers who support any sort of immigration bill. That is why McCain, Brownback and many others backed out. Anti-immigrants are working overytime making it look like as if their opinion is the opinion of the entire nation. Each person is making 20-30 phone calls a week. But it is ok if none of us is doing anything. Lets all "time pass" and have this very important discussion about Rs/$ eachange rate variation... right?
Communities/groups/societies who do not understand the need to organize and standup for themselves always perish. Durbin-Grassley bill is just the beginning of the time for this high skilled immigrant community to disappear. Reason - When any group of people increases in number there is always another group which becomes its natural opponent/adversary. This community of over a million people also have very powerful opponent/adversary. That opponent is gaining strength and working overtime to purge all of us. But that is ok, let us talk about Rs/$ conversion rate. Anybody here from Uruguay or Morocco??? Why don’t people from Uruguay or Morocco and all other countries of the world join us in this VERY VERY important discussion about the recent exchange rate variation of Indian Rs/$. Such an important subject to be all hashed out on IV forums. Good, keep it up….. But don’t forget to check the mail box, maybe that unopened letter contains your green card.

Zen, the point is very simple. If you believe in this organization and what it does then you will donate knowing that IV needs the money to lobby for you, me and everyone else who is part of the community.
Lobbying is a very sensitive issue and it is not always possible for the persons involved to give you daily updates. Rather disclosing too much before time can have the opposite effect with people interested in lobbying against our interest mobilizing more aggressively.
Also bills are introduced all the time and there is not always enough time to hold funding drives to lobby for and against those bills. Moreover lobbying with the congress and senate is an on going effort and will require resources anyways.
However if you feel you want to be in the thick of things and know everything that is going on, then I guess joining your state chapter and being an active member can help you get some additional info. I believe volunteering your time is a lot more useful for the community than only money and if you can do that, all the power to you. I for one try and make my contributions to help those guys who are taking the pains to do all the work which benefits all of us.

WithoutGCAmigo, no panic. there are processing dates which you should be worried about after you file EAD / AP etc.
To file it goes per visa bulletin. Hope you are upto date with that.

Do you mean 30 credits with 3 year degree from India to complete MS?
$15K for 30 credits means $500 for 1 credit?
ISU - Iowa State University; Not from India. Yes, $15K for a total of 30 credits. Aprx 3 credits per subject => total 10 subjects. One of them must be a project, so total of 9 subjects ( with 3 credits each).

This can create fights amoung us. This is like divide and rule.. It did work in the past,. so we must make these guys do EB2 and EB3.
BUT they bring some very good points.
EB3 will go nowhere unless we act. Very Correct.

There is a chance many EB3 Indians getting influenced as they too dont see any hope and there is nothing happening from IV in last 1 year except one or two in last 1 week.
Writing to service centers is a new idea even I didnt get so far.

Can someone tell that If USCIS says that 29 June 07 is the last date to receive applications for premium processing for I 140 . Does that mean that they shud receive the application by 29th or application shud be post-marked dated 29th in order to be considered for premium processing.

We mailed my wife's PP on the 29th. I spoke to the customer service rep at USCIS and he said post mark date is what they see. But I have been seeing other websites say that its got to be received. Thats doesnt sound logical. So wait and watch I guess.

Basically they want to prevent offshoring legally... meaning
if microsoft wants job done.. hire locally.. or bring people on direct H1 so they net the taxes. or do the job overseas.
If Infosys brings people - do not let them work in CIsco, microsoft or, HP... that way they put overseas company OUT OF Business
USA needs fruit pickers not hi tec, this can be outsourced..

I joined the forum last month and realized that I should NOT be one who wants a free ride. This is a great effort for all of us. We should support it by all means we can.
Immediately signed for monthly contributions. Last weekend I heavily sent emails to media persons and contacted the senators too. Everyone and every dollar counts. I am spreading the name amongst all my friends and colleagues at work.

I wish each member joining this forum was like you. I know IV attracts a lot of members because they can get quick answers to their particular situations and answers they do get, but most of them never stay back and strengthen IV. Then there are some, that believe in the cause but are involved in endless discussions about things that do not resolve or attempt to act on IV's goals and agenda. And a few like you, who get active, who understand what is important and what can help us achieve the result we are so much seeking.

Since there is the nightmarish Sensenbrenner border protection bill that will come up with the comprehensive immigration reform legislation, it appears that the pro-immigration forces may have to energize their forces and start working on the critical immigration legislation.

this is my 10th year in the US & never had a single incident along the racial lines.. probably I lucked out.. However, I don't subscribe to this opinion of removing moustache..... Just wanted those sending applications now to know that Nebraska has recently rejected hundreds of (i) EB2 cases with x yrs of experience + BS even when x is 10 and (ii) EB-1 cases even with Ph.Ds (this accding to my lawyer.)
Ph D does not make it EB1 at all. I know fresh CS/EE Ph Ds from good schools in teaching jobs in reasonable schools apply for EB2. I was surprised to know this.
Based on the posts here, it looks like there are no fixed rules. I don't know whether it depends on your lawyer or USCIS or both.

Did you had the paystubs or the immigration officer did not ask for it?
No, She don't have pay stubs and office just asked her husbands pay stubs ( for whom she is a dependent) and she didn't mention about her H1 and not attached H1 release in the visa documentation. She just attended for H4 visa with only documents that required for H4.
What did you mentioned at line # 30 and # 38 of DS-156?
I don't know but I can check my friend tomorrow.
