For those in South ( Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Louisiana) best way to go to India is new Emirates direct flight between Houston and Dubai and then onward to India.
I have had 3-4 friends fly this route since they started flying in November 2007 and they have nothing but praise for everything. These guys have excellent food and entertainment and no transit visa hassels plus duty free sopping in Dubai is good.
Pluse - they put you up in a hotel if your Dubai layover is more than 8 hrs (for economy class passengers) and you get a free transit visa to visit Dubai. During my last trip to Bangalore, I went via Dubai (NYC - Dubai direct flight) and on my way back we had 11 hrs layover. My wife and I got a chance to see the city. Next time we are going to India we are planning on staying for a few days and go for their desert camp trip.

Does this mean i will surly get a RFE, and if it is say 1 year later, will i have to go for the medical exam again?
Medical report is a valid evidence and if its missing they will surely issue an RFE when they are adjudicating your case, whether its now or 1-2yrs later. Since the medical report is valid only for an year if you get the RFE an year later you might have to do it again.
One thing you can do is, once you get your receipt notice you can send your current medical report along with the copy of RN and a cover letter saying you are sending a missing document. Your lawyer should be able to assist you in this.

I have a EB2 approved I-140 with PD 2006. Another EB2 I-140 from BEC with PD 2005 is still pending and might take another 6 months to get approval.
Will it be a better a strategy to file based on approved 140 (pd 2006) and later on capture pd 2005, once the BEC based 140 gets approved? Not sure whether interfiling applies for same category.

in mumbai, also you need to enter the details of petition online (petition number, expiry date and petitioner name) while booking appointment.. and you need to submit all documents before 5 working days.. (in some cases they mention 3 working days)
I havent taken my appointment yet so dont know if that would be the case even for Delhi. But in Mumbai..r they asking to fax the documents (like I-129, I 797A, LCA etc) to them prior to the interview?

Here is another case of a person I came across recently. This person was stuck for the past 5 years in Namechecks . He applied for GC in 2001. He got his GC just recently after a long wait and struggle.

I created a SR on 09/14 and got the following response today.
"
Service records indicate that your application is pending and waiting assignment to an officer. You will be notified when a decision has been made or if additional information is needed. If you do not receive a decision or other notice of action from us within 60 days from the date of this letter, please contact customer service to complete another service request
"
I would appreciate if someone can interpret the message.

Many folks on this forum are so excited that consulting companies are going to be affected by this bill. Many FTEs think they are safe and consulting companies going out of business will help them get their GCs faster. Wait and watch, such bills typically affects direct hiring companies more than consulting companies in the end.
Remember who is proposing these bills. Durbin and gang. Do you think they are trying to liberate the employees from the clutches of "bad" employers. I don't think so.

Fly from SFO --> HongKong --> Singapore --> India . No transit visa needed anywhere. Inflight desi food available. Ticket is pricey.
I would second this. Singapore Airlines is especially good if you are travelling with babies/kids. Its a bit longer than the SFO->frankfurt->India route, but worth it. Also, Changi airport at Singapore is 10 times better than frankfurt for a layover.

Please i suggest everyone to wake up and smell the coffee/chai.
If you think giving us citizenship will be easy becoz it will prop up their vote bank think again coz it will never happen. Imagine the headlines which says recession time 10M americans out of job, foreign workers to get citizenship LMAO!
Forget this ever happening in a recession time and not much of a chance in the boom time either, see how the Anti-Immi's will eat everyone up for this ridiculous suggestion, please remember we're nothing in the larger scheme of things for the decision making people, we need to understand our limitation and strengths and play by them, IV does a decent job of that.
Do think rationally before coming up with ridiculous ideas like giving senators free pizza or asking for-direct citizenship. lol.

People who were skeptical before might join us next time and we might increase our numbers. This is just our first attempt. We can have a coordinated second attempt. By that I mean choosing another campaign day with IV Core. Please people don't start randomly sending things to USCIS. Let's work with IV Core and come up with a plan if we want to carry out a new campaign. If you have money to spare by sending random things to USCIS, please contribute to IV.

None of the memos have stated that AC 21 can be used only in the case of lay offs. It could be a case of USCIS covering up a mistake they did. With the severe retrogression and impending recession there could be several reasons an employee will leave the employer.
One of the iv member, has stated that the I485 has been denied for his friend, upon withdrawl of 140 by his ex-employer. His ex-employer has informed USCIS, that the employee left the job on his own. Also, he quoted that "USCIS denied I485 because, ac21 can be used in case of layoffs only , not switching for jobs"
In your letter you are requesting to give RFE/NOID before denial, but the fundamental reason for denial is different in the above case. what is use of getting RFE/NOID, in that case?
