Wow, I am in exactly same boat, So , basically FP results are blocking EAD card production!!... next renewal, It will paper based EAD.!!
-N
EAD e-filed: May 27th
Receipt notices received: 1st week of June
FP done: June 19th
Card production ordered LUD: June 28th
Other soft LUDs: July 25th, July 27th
Still waiting...
InfoPass: This morning...07/28/08
Per the guy at the InfoPass counter, the FP report was received on July 24th (which probably explains the July 25th LUD). He said EAD will not be printed or sent out before FP check is complete. In 2007, they did not run FP checks to issue the first EAD after July fiasco.
So could this explain the delay that folks here are seeing? FP Code 2 was done for EAD, so not sure why this should take so long  Maybe I am mistaken, but I thought that only FP Code 3 that's done for I-485 can take a long, long time. Can someone post info on EAD FP checks?
Update: Here's what I have after some quick research on USCIS biometrics:
http://www.immigrationportal.com/archive/index.php/t-191494.html[/QUOTE]
You guys are atleast having some news to celebrate where in your petitions are approved. Im getting really concerned now as Im approaching closer to the end of my current ead expiration and I dont have any approval yet.
I just dont know what to do
Do you guys have any ideas for me??

Hi,
I was wondering is this a firm news that- Labor gets expired after 6 months if you dont apply for 140..
It it right.. am thinking it depends on state to state ?
Appreciate your replies.
Thanks
Yes, approved LC expires after 6 months. This rule has already been implemented by DOL along with labor substitution elimination.

Nice one!
Hi folks, just as predicted, my email thread to select contacts resulted in one outright racist response. i dont want this group to get distracted or distressed if you too get such responses. take a look at the original note below and my response. remain brave. remain strong. this is a LEGAL immigration process in the US economic interest too.
hopefully people will begin to realize that anti-legal-immigration is just a facade for deep rooted racism.
Best.
A SELF AVOWED RACIST RESPONSE from A PERSONAL CONTACT
I have to let you know that not only will I not support this bill, but I am vehemently against the legal immigration of workers that are originally brought here to usurp positions that would have otherwise been held by skilled Americans. I agree that this is a racist and exclusionary position, but I also know many people who can no longer get work at the level they deserve due to the displacement they have experienced as a result of this foreign worker influx.
Please remove me from any future posts regarding this or related issues.
MY RESPONSE
i know how the native americans must have felt when the pilgrims landed... oh that darned foreign influx.
i will not dignify your self avowed racism with the erudition of economics, capitalism, innovation, globalization, human rights or the rich history of the united states as a melting pot of cultures ... all of which are underpinning factors that are in the long term US economic interests in high skilled LEGAL immigration. of course, these tend to be conveniently ignored on the altar of superficial sentiment, myopic protectionism and deep-rooted xenophobia.
it would be best that we not be on each others' personal contacts or have any future interaction at all.

I got the "card production ordered" email today which probably means that the gc application has been approved.
Here's the info for immigration voice team/users' tracking approvals
my PD is nov 2005.
Receipt date: 7/31/2007
center: nebraska
I got married last year and the lawyers were about to file the follow-to-join application for my wife in the next couple of days. But my application seems to have got approved first. Has anyone been in this situation before?
thanks!

Mr. Pagal,
Its very unfortunate, that most of us are very active only when a Visa Bulletin is released, bickering about EB1, EB3, EB1 etc. Then the topic dies until the next visa bulletin is released.
There are plenty of action items to do, have you checked those, I recommend you do that ASAP. Mind that the IV core also has a professional and personal life, no one pays them to do what they do at IV. Simply pointing fingers at others will not help with our cause. Contributing some $$ is also an action Item, I suggest you start with that.
Have a good one!!
7z
Understandably so. But the contention is that whatever efforts that IV putting in, is not helping EB3 much. Not finger pointing that IV hasn't done anything or biased towards EB3. But its just the fact that its helping only EB2 folks (of course, nothing against EB2), but everyone can see the how badly EB3I is affected.
It doesn't make sense if people argue EB2 are brightest or high cast community. That's a BS. Most, if not all, know the fact that its not a case.
Yes, I would suggest working with IV to achieve the goals.

You can take these at any Hospitals or Clinic. They are quiet costly but my insurance covered them 100%.
From my understanding you need all these completed to be able to file I485, when ever that may be.......

Letting all this Indian Consulting Firms taking ALMOST all the H-1B visas is very unfair for everyone of us that we are working hard to get a job in the US. In my opinion, they are trying to monopolize all the H-1B so no other company can be able to hire foreign professionals by themself. In this way their only way to get professionals is thru them.
It is very UNFAIR that this consulting companies takes a large number, getting almost everything, of H-1B visas without having a real job for them. This companies will offer this H-1Bs to other companies, making it a big business. Additionally, I believe that indians also pays to this consulting companies for the H-1B.
Even if the congress raise the cap without making changes in the system, it will never be enough. It will just increase the profit of this consulting companies. I only hope that the changes going to be introduced to fix the system will not screw us and complicate more the immigration process. But realistics and effectives changes are needed.
Good luck for everyone who are in the H-1B lottery and really need it.

Has anyone started fundraising yet??. I did not. I need to work on recruiting 6 more people atleast into Team IV. We should have 50 people for the Cal. Event atleast. I need to work on the networking events as well
I have started my fundraising, but that is only because I have all the fundraising ideas in my head.
I will start sending out the Welcome Packages this week. The Welcome Package has a section for Fundraising and will help each Team IV Member reach his/her goal.
The first T Shirt order has also been placed, last week, I believe. I should be receiving this initial order by mail shortly and then I can mail out the T Shirts to those who have signed up thus far.
We need to still concentrate on our recruitment efforts this week and the next.
The Dolphin South End Runners Club has welcomed us for their Aug 17, 2008 event. I am hopeful that we can get a contingent of at least 20-30 Team IVians to walk run that event.

However, if we do not refinance by the end of 15 years then the house becomes a bad investment and the returns go down.
Very good point mentioned.
Charak says (In Sanskrit): Rinam Kritwa Ghritam Piwet ...
Meaning is: Borrow money to drink milk butter (it is a symbol of buying of the material things). As long as you live, live happily.
American system works in such a way that, if one does not remain in home loan, he/she is a big looser. On 30 years loan, one should take equity out of home between 12-15 years, so that again home is 70-80% financed. The equity money taken can be invested in stock for maximizing gains.
Usually a home is put to remains in 70-80 % loan for maximum tax benefit - most of the homes are like that. So when stock goes down and home prices go down by 20%, most of the houses come underwater.
The moment a home comes underwater or nearing it, refinancing is not possible.
===
Further, you buy a home or a car, it is owned by bank. In fact, when I bought a new car on paying 100% to big Toyata Dealer, still the car was put on loan with banker. After 5-6 days it was fully transfered to me (although I did not pay anything for car being on loan). - The system work like that - One of the largest Toyta Dealer in bay area has no system in place, in which I could buy a car by paying 100% directly. 100% payment did not made me full owner of car from day 1.
===
Most of Asian countries work in opposit way - everything on cash. There are no (or may be very few) policies providing returns on loan. I have experience of buying two home in India - on loan - paying full - and selling. Also in India I bought four cars and sold them.
===
Things are different here. I was under tremendous pressure from friends to buy instead of renting. In last posting I provided info. that I did buying this month. My home buying In the buying process, I got: some money from builder towards closing cost, some money from agent. I'll get tax credit from fed. Also banker provided one year free borrower protection, which I can terminate before payment starts. So effectively system (business process) in US provided a total $17,000 while buying. People form India must be knowing - it is reverse over there. Here due to borrower protection i have protection of $25,000. So while buying, things are not that bad. if I add $17,000 with borrower protection of $25,000 (in case of problem), it turns out to be $40,000 odd. This is what I mean by system or business process providing support for buying. After putting all money in home, this $40,000 is still there.
Not having GC/Citizenship is a real hinderance, because one is fully part of US system as long as he/she is working. The moment job or status is gone, he/she is not part of system is US (becomes illegal). Buying is in this context a very high risk activity specially because trends are downward - there is no time to react.

thanks andy. I am planning to use old PD , since I have a previously approved labour from EB3 ( i am trying for eb2 this time) do I need the original copy of the I-140 approval from my old employer? thanks.
This is taken from one of the Bulletins issued by the CIS.
Determining the priority date: Under INA 203(f), immigrant visas are available in the order in which the underlying visa petition was filed. The priority date determines an aliens place in line. For EB-1immigrants, the priority date is the date the employer files the Form I-140 with USCIS. For EB-2 and EB-3 immigrants, the priority date is the date the employer applies for the labor certification, if an individual labor certification is required. If an individual labor certification is not required, the priority date is the date the employer files the Form I-140 with USCIS. If the alien is the beneficiary of more than one Form I-140, the priority date for EACH Form I-140 is the priority date for the earliest Form I-140.
I think that all you need is a copy of the I-140 approval.

This won't fly because the simplistic model for immigration bills is -
D(hispanic) + D(labor) + D(neutral) + R(business) + R(nativist) + R(neutral) < Enough votes to pass Congress
I agree, this is the way politics works most of the time. lobby for votes, etc.
But isn't it also their job to do what is in the best interest of the Nation. Everything isn't decided by lobbies.
Maybe we're approaching this the wrong way, in trying to build competing lobby. it needs a new approach. Congress should be convinced in a different way.
Lobby is for optional, nice to have things, which will not be generally missed if they fail.
Legal immigration is none of these and is almost mandatory. Imagine losing for eg. 200K EB3s. another 50K doctors.

Do not say that you want to see I-485 filling being applied to some bill.
I said the same thing and people came after me saying that I should stop asking about I-485 provision fate.
I never ever asked, I was just eager to see it as IV had mentioned.
I guess people have mis understood by words.
I beliebe that IV is pushing this provision. However, no sign of this provision indicates that there is no hope for any immigration reform in the near future.
Maybe it's really time for us to consider packing and going back home.
