from all your invalid and illogical posts, I fail to understand your real motive. Do you want us get divided and fight among ourselves? Hope not! With my limited understanding, what I realized in last 2 years is this: VISA RECAPTURE and RETROGRESSION aka discrimination based on country of birth are the biggest obstacles for those born in countries like India, china, Philippines and Mexico. (Do you want to say that it is okay to be descriminated for being born in one of those countries?) So it does make sense to address these 2 issues. If I have limited energy (read money & support for lobbying, campaign etc), I would spend it towards where it can benefit me most.
What I am saying is just do not look into the issues that affects only you. Just be open minded. Show some sympathy to them. They were really affected. You do not have to fight all battles. you called that person Jealous which I did not like. if You do not like just ignore the post but do not call the names.

Hello,
I am also trying to go through the process of getting my spouse's name changed. I got good information from all your posts, but I am trying to understand the order of steps to be followed:
So,
1. Place ads in newspapers in US and India
2. Get the local court order
3. Mail all the required docs to respective Indian Embassy in US along with court order
4. Once passport received with new name, use the court order and passport to change names in SSN, drivers license etc.
5. Once all of them are changed, send all copies to USCIS (New name will be applied with next stamping and for now we ll still carry old and new passports pinned togther)
Please let me know if I am missing something and any details if possible.

But how can that be unless we r mistaken about the category EB1 may be.
How can there be RD/NDs of 2008 as far as I remember only 15 or 30 days of July were open for filing I-485 after that dates had retrogressed......
If what u're saying is true...the whole process is as random as possible....

I do not want to be involved in faith restored discussion.... I have been in IV for long enough to know about IV... and since i know IV considerbly well... that is the reason i put forward my question in this open forum... Since IV is open organization.... some might prefer it to be PM but i prefer it to be open discussion

I think the Indian Passport offices give new passports with surname and first/given names. Check with the embassy.

Are we not human beings? May be we are labelled "aliens" but we are certainly not from Mars! Please consider to clear the long waiting backlogs of the greencard process.

To the corporates, we are high-skilled slaves with no certainity on the status...easy to say..why bother..go back to your country...:o but the reality is different for each person.
To the govt, we are the funding means...(recent H1B/L1 fees ).
To CIS -- our fees is the main source of income to run the shop..
To Illegals -- we (backlogged EB) are hostages to get their wish fulfilled if any...
To Politicians - we are the their subjects in their arguments...

I completed my MS in Computer Science from US around 6 years back, was on OPT for a year & thereafter moved out of US & came back to my home town. Have been working here for 6 years now in the software field & have now applied for H1B under masters Quota. Was wondering if I am eligible to apply under this quota as I am neither a fresh masters graduate nor have any status in the US. Also, my lawyer has only filled out the I-129 form. Is there any special form that needs to be filled out to be considered for Master's quota?

There are only a handful who are active. EB3's are screwed so bad that they have resigned to fate or comtemplating using AC 21 and reapplying in EB 2. i have tired pointing it out to many that EB 3 as a whole is in the same boat, few care and the July filers are happy in the land of EAD/AP.
Some people like me who really love what they do and dont prefer changing jobs have reached a point where they are begining to think if it is all even worth the wait. You will not find a sleeping giant, rather a depressed giant overrun by a bunch of koolaid drinkers.

Sadly though, the number of EB3 applicants is many many times the number of EB2. So, there's something to be said for participation and having your voice heard. It is no wonder then that we as a group are dismal at having our collective voices heard - we don't participate like our lives depended on it. And in this case our entire lives depend on what's going on...
So, instead of bickering and blaming, why don't we awaken the giant that is EB3 India and China and have them participate as well...maybe we'll be able to kill many many birds (country limits, DC rallies, contributions to IV and lobbying activities, phone call campaigns, letter campaigns...) with just one stone....just thinking out loud...that's all...

The question in the title of this post is for the user who gave me a red dot for "selling the July VB reversal"
I am going to re-iterate, for I firmly believe I owe my ability to file AOS to this organization!
If you too saved thousands of dollars owing to the VB reversal... this is the least you can and should do to help yourself to a GC, a few years sooner than otherwise.
Contribute funds now to IV!
