IF I port to self employment will things be any better?
That way I can be a consultant and work in my field. I can generate enough work. Also, how would USCIS exactly know what kind of work a person is doing?

Before posting this did you even think that the ship may be crossing international waters and US immigration laws may not hold good in that region? Were you not too quick to judge one's competency?
Don't you think the person going on a cruise should make an effort to check this out with the cruiseline?
Many of you have probably been to niagara falls and been on the boat that takes you close the falls. If the boat by mistake goes even an inch over the canada side of the water, they will check your passports and visas before letting you into US side.:D

sparky_jones: can you give us your write up to USCIS regarding this missing field information. What was in the letter regarding this field. I plan on sending a letter to them providing this information.
I attached a sheet of paper to my supporting documentation with the following heading in bold: "Correction Requested for e-Filed Form I-765
Receipt # ***-**-****"
Below that, I simply put the following statement:
"Please update Item 12 �Date of Last Entry into the US� for Form I-765 to **/**/****. This field was omitted during the e-Filing process."
I attached a sheet of paper to my supporting documentation with the following heading in bold: "Correction Requested for e-Filed Form I-765

I understand the 10-day rule, but when does the clock start?
The date of lease starting or the date of actual move.....ideally these shouldnt be too far apart, but in my case they will be, hence the confusion.

As per my understanding 10 days is from the time you change your permanent address. Due to lease constraint I also had two apartments at same time. I filled online AR-11 within 10 days after I moved to new apartment.

I would like to appeal to all the people who want to travel outside the country and would need a new visa stamp to come back to US....please...please...please do not take this risk unless it is a family emergency (a life and death situation rather than a brother,sister getting married).
Cant attend own brothers wedding because we are scared of the possibility of MAYBE getting a delayed visa stamping?? what kind of life is that? ....

That footer would kick arse to techno music. I love the techno music! I think you just aren't pleased with it because it's yours. I know I am not fully pleased with mine. But I keep getting compliments on it, so I guess it is good.

The only reason I see the lawyer not applying with enotice, could be he was very busy.
Even my attorney did not file concurrently on 28th as it was last day for PP of 140 and her office was extermely busy applying PP on 28th.
I then walked on 29th and signed all 485 , and she said she will wait for receipt notice and then apply and then July2nd showed up and this fiasco.
Once I got e-notice of approval for 140 by email, I called up the attorney and she filed 485 one day before the announcement of July17th.
At that time she did not have Hardcopy of either receipt notice nor approval notice. So she filed with e-notice of approval.
Next day we got hard copy of approval notice. The receipt notice is yet to arrive in mail.
I hope this is ok. Otherwise 140 receipt notice is a initial evidence and app could get rejected and returned.
But it should return by Aug 17th . So still there is some time to act.
If I dont get receipt notice of 485 by aug 16th, I plan to apply duplicate 485 and say in cover letter that this is because of so and so.
Sad that 485 receipt is not emailed ? like 140 e-notice.

I want to purchase an house in Washington DC/MD/VA. My office is close to Rockville. Please recommend the best place to buy an house based on the following criteria.
1> Very good school district
2> Low property tax
3> Very low crime rate
4> Rental value should be same as mortgage amount+insurance+PMI+property tax
5> Property values should be in 300K range max
6> Lot of Indians
9> Maximum distance to DC should not exceed 30 miles
10> Close to shopping places
Dont look at VA - commute to MD will be killing.
DC is expensive.
Look at Frederick, Gaithersburg, Rockville, Bethesda in MD

Forget all the middle vendor and lawsuit , nobody will do anything.. In CA if you not aware, there is no legally binding contract that can restrict and employee to work for any employer. Non compete agreements also do not work there, these are just fear tactics. I left my employer and joined the client , and did this 2 times and also that too not even in CA , in other states. Noone did nothing, because it cost time and money and unless there is a 100% chance for the other party to win , they will not get into the lawsuit and stuff as it cost a lot of time and money.
So forget him and also save the middle vendor's number on your phone so next time you can avoid his call.

(employer) -> (middle vendor ) -> prime vendor -> (End client ).
I am working to a client in california in the above mentioned order. After 1 year we got rid of middle vendor and prime vendor is working with my employer directly . Now middle vendor is threatning me that he can sue me for breaking the line of contract .
i dont understand ho can even its possible as i never signed any document with middle vendor and he is not even my employer . He is just acting as middle layer by showing prime vendor that i am his employee which is wrong. now we removed him from line of contract and he is saying that he will sue all of us for doing this.
is there any way that he can even do this ?

My EAD is approved for 2 years last week, Today my attorney sent me I-140 reference answered is due by 1st Nov,

My PD date is in Dec. 2006
As per Reference:
1) Please provide evidence (in the form of official academic transcript) of any additional education the beneficiary has obtained prior to Dec. 2006
2)The other one is for Company 's ability to pay and for my payroll records after PD to current. (This is not an issue as my firm is financially sound)
My I-140 is filed under skilled category, with 3 years eqiuvalent Bachelors degree, evaluated by degreepeople.
I have additional 2 years certification corses in business adminstration not considered by my attorney.
I will appreciate if some one can provide me better attorney to handle this case.

I have this exact same issue. My wife can't come back before 1st Oct. She will be coming back Late Nov. What we want is to go for H1-b stamping and come back on H1-b.
