I applied for my wife EAD renewal on May 3, 2010 at Dalls Lock Box Office, following is the message i got from USCIS today:
Your USCIS application/petition has been received and routed to the California Service Center for processing. Within 7-10 days by standard mail you will receive your official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) with your Receipt Number
WAC12345678901223. With the official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) you may visit USCIS Home Page (http://www.uscis.gov) where you can check the status of your application using My Case Status. We suggest you wait until you have received your Form I-797 before checking My Case Status.
I live in NY and I am not sure why they teansfered it to California. My original I-485 receipt is from california, may be thats why, not sure !!!!!!
does any 1 else also got the same message?
except I live in OH. My applications was sent in earlier April....

American Families united is an orgalization that is trying to bring legislative changes to family related issue including the Age out issue. This is their website.
http://www.americanfamiliesunited.org/
But that is only for USC who marry and for the spouse's dependent children not to protect all children aging out and yes I am speaking with Randell Emery, the site owner.
Its all about money, to get our voices heard thats what we need to employ a lobbyist, unless we happen to know a congressman or his aides
Have been speaking with Connie Mack's office who has a copy of my law suite also Adam Putman's office, seem interested.
We all need to write to our congress people to raise awareness.

I met lots of people, I remember a lot of names, but how can I write down all the names, it will be a long list. Oh forgot, I met my wife too there:)
It was fun to meet so many people, its amazing, you read threads, you see IV handles and you try to be imaginative on who that person would be, but you just can't put a face behind the IV handle. Then you get to meet them in person and you say my name is this and my name is that and then we look surprised, who.. and then the question comes, whats your IV handle. Then we talk as we have known each other for years. We all fight for the same cause, we all have compelling stories very personal, very painful, the never ending wait for getting a green card. Some of them are in with us even though they have crossed the hurdle of getting a green card, because they believe in our cause, they don't want anyone to go through the pain all of us are going through. Hats off to all.. the train has left the station now, we have one voice, IMMIGRATION VOICE!!!!

Well I really think this is reasonable suggestion to factor Priority Date to determine eligibility for citizenship. It could be 5 or 10 years past your priority and only after approval of green card. Currently many people wait for 8 to 10 years for green card and another 5 years to be eligible for citizenship and some lucky ones get green card in 2 to 3 years and citizenship in another 5 years. System should somehow be balanced to have close to uniform wait times towards citizenship for all.
sorry to sound like a beaten record - but it seems that everyone here pretty much sees citizenship as fait accompli!
how has our respective motherlands harmed us that despite being pushed around by US for years on end -we are desperately seeking US citizenship?? after all - in many cases - its the basic and advanced education received at our respective countries that has made us qualify as "highly skilled" immigrants here.....
go ahead - put all the red dots - but do some soul searching before that!
here is the first line of US citizenship oath - "I hereby declare, on oath, that I absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty of whom or which I have heretofore been a subject or citizen" - while i can absolutely live in US as a law-abiding, tax-paying resident - how can i renounce my country of birth?

7) Bottomline now EB3 will move upwards till 2005 mid with first priority and EB
2 will also brought till 2005 mid but this will be done by moving Eb3 first as
it is already way behind.
EB2 will move to 2005, but not as fast as you think. See these IV polls:
http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/showthread.php?t=6266
http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/showthread.php?t=6128
again a small sample and possibly statistically invalid; but 50% of people waiting for GC from EB2-India have PD < March_2005.
8) Once both EB2 and EB3 reches 2005 mid bench mark Eb2 will again
become faster with comparision to EB3.
why? Most people past 2005 have actively tried for EB2. Either by abandoning earlier filings and doing a fresh one in PERM, or by trying to recapture them.
In 2001 no one cared if your LC was filed in EB2 or EB3. From 2005 onwards people are actively looking for EB2.

Snathan, Thanks for all your help. Its been 9 months that my application is in PERM process and nothing happened except an AUDIT. I want to get out of this mess. I want to do anything that i can do to get out of this mess soon.
Samantha,
Attorney can contact the DOL after 4 months of the audit reply. My reply was on March 11th. My attorney asked me to wait 2 more months for her to contact DOL.
If it is 4 months after the audit reply, ask your attorney to contact the DOL.

I still see his old report there, including "The USCIS hands may be tied, should the EB visa numbers for FY 2007 is exhausted before the end of July."
What exactly has he removed?
My bad, it was WAYY down below and he had removed the links to it. I apologise for the mis-information.

I am happy that many of our high skilled community has understood my idea and supporting this thread. Yes definitely Core IV needs to look into this. You can also include your valid points so that core IV team can consolidate and research on this.
IV or other organization
can propose
ANY one who has PAID US FEDERAL TAXES for Five Years ( Irrespective of their visa categories) and HAS MASTER OR HIGHER DEGREE IN THE STEM FIELDS, Should get their GC in THREE YRS after Getting their Greencard.
( Similar to marriage to citizen)

Doctors are EB2 and EB1.
They are not EB3
Even Physical therapists are EB2.
EB3 are low level/entry level programmers or skilled workers with with undergraduate degree or diploma degree holders that use education evaluation service to prove that their diploma is equivalent to an undergraduate degree.
Now some of you will say you have masters degree and still are EB3. It does not matter if you have a undergraduate degree from IIT or Harvard and have MBA from Harvard. If your job needs only undergraduate degree your master degrees are useless. You are working in a wrong job and overqualified for your job. You should look for another job that needs your american masters degree. Some will say that their lawyer filed in EB3 even though they qualify for EB2. Now that is also a wrong excuse. If your lawyer and HR screwed you, it is your fault that you could not stand up to them. It is not USCIS fault.
What about those "lucky" creatures who worked for a desi employer? Desi employer ALWAYS file EB2, regardless of wht the requirement is. It is only the legitimate companies that actually bother about the "requirement" to file an EB2.
Anyways, its a moot point to have this discussion, since its not helping anyone's cause.

We do
That is great news!! I am excited to hear that we will be getting the support of NorCal Members.
Team IV has reached a membership of 27 members as of today. I have several more to confirm by this weekend.
That is nearly $9000 in fundraising efforts that we can target! $9000 may not be much, but it can be put to good use for lobbying of new bills, especially the three new bills introduced recently for highly skilled legal immigrants pending GCs.

I appreciate you for keeping this civilized as well. We all know that all the talk about recapture and immigration reform has not taken us anywhere. We wont be here arguing about this issue, if we dont have any inherent bias towards our well-being. (I dont even have to be explicit about that) I dont want to discuss being fair and look for any sympathy towards EB3I. All I want to know who is adversely affected. Just by looking at the bulletin, it gives us a clear picture. If USCIS would have interpreted all along this way and never changed it, I would not be even discussing here because its mute. I am not a proponent of changing the way it was before so that it backlogs EB2 as well. I just want to put this effort up there so that we can come into some consensus of rationalizing the spill over to get benefit to all backlogged groups rather than pouring in to one group. How would this affect long term ? I dont know. But I know for sure, there will be some relief to some people for the time being and over the long term it could help more. See the difference between our argument is, I just want some from you, but you want it all. I am in this game for about 9 years with 8 EADs. By not having a GC never restricted me from doing what ever I wanted. But I think its about time, some one has to do something about it. I think this is the right opportunity for some people. If I look from your side, its taking something from you. But all I am looking is the right way to get USCIS intrepret and get some relief in the process.
Thank you for your arguments and I dont think we can come to consensus on our beliefs. I will drive this issue from my end and see what I can do about it.
I always believed in Bucky's motto: "an experiment, to find what a single individual could contribute to changing the world and benefiting all humanity"
nyte_crawler I gave u green because I really appreciate you keeping the argument civilized even though we both differ in our ideas. Now just to take things a little further. You have pointed me that I am arguing to keep spill over as it is (in favour of EB2) because that will help me. I would argue the same that when you say immediate help for EB3 I feel that is because that will help your case. Tell me how does it help Eb3 with PD 2004 and further. Rather it would be in their interest to cross port to EB2 since they directly become current rather than wait for spill over to reach their PD which is good 3-4 years away. So my argument is there are three interest groups here
1) EB2
2) Eb3 prior to 2004
3) Eb3 2004 onwards.
